Stanton Degregorio: I love all poetry. Omar Musa, he's a contemporary slam poet, he's amazing. Google him. Judith Wright. I love Judith Wright, her poetry is so intense. Dylan Thomas. I never know what he's on ! about but it sounds awesome lol. Tennyson...of course!! John Donne. I love Donne, he's great.@ Mareeclara: Not all poetry is melodramatic. In fact, melodrama is actually something that a lot of contemporary poets avoid. You might find that some poetry is just as cynical as you are, and I really don't mean that derisively lol. You just haven't found your poet yet. Poetry is like a lover or a pet or a pair of shoes...you just have to find the one that's right for you :)...Show more

Rodolfo Merel: I love poetry.I would have to say my favorite poet is Edgar Allan Poe.
Marna Liddie: Not really. I always bypass it if I see it in magazines. I did used to write a lot as a child/teen actually and I did like some at school...now I like more non-fiction than airy-fairy poems. I think teens like it as it's melodramatic like they are.....I have become a cynic.I got annoyed with poetry at high school where we I had to repeat English. We did the same poem over the 2 years and my first teacher told us this huge story of crap about this poem because when I answered the multichoice questions on the poem I got it ALL wrong....that was not what the poem was about at all (I remember her telling us it was about a girl who had suffered from burns and was recovering...I don;t know what the actual p! oem was about...my feelings were, don't elude to something, TELL me what is it....which is why I migrated to science, non-fiction, biographies as it tells me like it is. I guess my mind needs concrete words now....Show more
