question about renting from a timeshare rental?

Sook Hershkowitz: Hi there. I rent out my timeshare all the time so I can answer your question.Renting a timeshare is a really nice alternative to getting a hotel for two reasons: one, you'll have more space, and two, you'll have a full kitchen, complete with dishes, glasses, silverware, and sometimes even spices. You'll save a lot of money by not having to eat out for every meal. So, even though timeshare rentals cost a little more than getting a hotel, you save a lot of money by not having to eat out for every meal. When you rent a timeshare, it is, just as you said, a one-time deal. You are not buying or investing in the timeshare. There is no contract and no long-term anything.Other people differ in the way that they rent out their timeshare, so I can only tell you how I do it. With my timeshare, I have access to over sixty locations around the US, plus Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji. I get emails every day from people who are looking to rent from me.! They just have to tell me where they want to go, what dates they'd like to travel, and how many people are in their party (so that I can make sure they have a large enough place).I want to point out something with the dates. My timeshare company charges different rates depending on the day of the week that you're there: Friday and Saturday are more expensive than Sunday, which is more expensive than Monday through Thursday. And of course, off-season dates are cheaper still. So, here is just one example of the difference in prices if you rented my timeshare, depending on when you stay:Let’s say you want to take a four day vacation at my timeshare in Destin, Florida. If you stay at the Destin resort Thursday through Sunday in late December, the price is $1480.But if you plan your vacation for Monday through Thursday in mid-January, you’ll only pay $310! Anyway, I hope all this helps. If you'd like to contact me to see my list of available locations, simply click on my pro! file for the link....Show more

Gladys Worthing: There ar! e plenty of places to rent a timeshare. You might be able to find some promotions if you contact the hotel chains themselves: Marriot Vacation Club, Hyatt Vacation Club, Wyndham Resorts, Hilton Grand Vacations Club. The only problem will be that they'll want you to go to a timeshare presentation for a hard sales presentation. Most of not too bad in comparison to some of the timeshare-only type resorts. You can also find rentals at tug2.net (Timeshare Users Group), redweek.com, and tstoday.com (Timesharing Today magazine). You should read more about how to rent on these websites. Don't pay upfront until you can verify the reservation with the resort by phone. Also, make sure you do your research of the resort. Make sure it has everything you want and is close by to what you want to see and do.Hope this helps!...Show more

Julieta Suleiman: Yes you can rent a timeshare for just the one week. Look for rentals. Be sure to confirm that the person renting the week ow! ns that week and it is not an exchanged week from the exchange companies. Be sure to get a contract of the deal. Timeshare User Group (www.tug2.net) has rentals.
