Texas mixed beverage gross receipts tax & sales tax?

Ervin Overbee: Beer and wine are subject to the state sales tax of 6.25% while mixed beverages are subject to the 14% mixed beverage tax. Cities can also charge an additional 2% on sales taxes for beer and wine to make it 8.25%. You would not pay sales tax plus mixed beverage tax on a mixed drink.

Nona Lentini: Mixed Beverage Gross Receipts Tax

Terrell Voltz: You've hit upon something that needs an immediate change. Hedge fund managers who make 6 Million dollars a year pay only 15% Capitol Gains tax, instead of the 38% tax of the "bracket" they're definitely in. A change in the tax codes would solve much. Be taxed upon how much you make & not the way in which you made it. Tax the rich? There they are (all of them). Leave the middle class alone.
