Dominic Sciancalepore: People have differing capacities for learning and do so at their individual pace. Given that the goal of education is learning, it is primarily an individual process. Make it online only and it becomes strictly individual. Put students in a classroom with a teacher and it becomes social, but the learning is still individual. Tests are given to individuals. Groups do not collaborate on tests. If an individual does show proficiency on a test, then that individual is promoted. If the individual does not show proficiency, then that individual does not get promoted regardless of the proficiency of the group....Show more
