Christians: If you want creationism taught in school, would you accept atheism being taught in church?

Kiersten Clayburn: Better question...Would you accept Agnosticism being taught in school?Atheism is a belief. There is no God. Agnosticism is a thought process... "I do not know. I seek more information."...Show more

Rocio Karvis: I Was taught about Atheism and Evolution in my Church School. We also had books in our Library that covered Mythology, if that was your interest.Knowing what the Bible teaches doesn't mean we shut our eyes and ears to what the world is being taught. On the contrary, how else can we possibly consider holding a objective, 1/2 intelligent conversation with 'others' if we didn't know 'something' about you?Good question....Show more

Caryl Mclaen: Good questionbut i guess you can imagin how this ´´teaching science´´ would look like

Gene Debell: school- general establishmentchurch- religious establishmentatheism- non-believersas soon as i find the church of OXYMORONISM.there are many different churches, i don't understand why at! heism (non-believing) has to be taught... better question.. how do you teach not to believe in something and criticize those who do?...Show more

Cornelius Thornborrow: If you want the creationism taught objectively, then would you accept the atheism being taught objectively too?

Claire Billegas: atheism being tought in a church, cute, thats like swimming lessons land. thats the thing, you christians are sooooo focused on keepin your kids in the dark so they cant make a choice on theyre religion.

Elva Batie: i don't see any difference between atheism and animalism. Now a days animals think atheism is morally acceptable to society.

Rose Krouse: I just want intelligent design taught in school. Creationism is when you get into religion, not intelligent design.

Solomon Belback: I think MORE religion should be taught. If people had an better understanding of the different religions and how they've evolved over time, we might not have these fundament! alist idiots.

Lyndon Mattas: Atheism is taught in a sma! ll handful of churches. The Unitarian Universalist are an example of an experience I had with that. They don't really believe in anything. When I was looking for a church, I was really turned off by Unitarian experience.

Melvin Nakama: You go, boy. You're my favorite wake up call in the morning.

Guy Bonamico: Very nice thinking.

Sheron Perrez: Atheism is taught in Church. It is called corruption of Ministers. Since we can't get that off the altars, we have earned the right to have creationism taught in schools.

Travis Sherrock: Atheism=/=evolution

Emile Okafor: How dare u. Where do u live? I want to invade your house.

Coleman Deliberato: I think a better comparison would be "Christians: If you want creationism taught in school, would you accept evolution being taught in church?" I'm sure there answer would be the same, though.

Warren Kotter: I wouldn't say, 'teach Atheism', but teach the possibility of other philosophies being ab! le to exist along side each other without placing one over the other. Many religions teach both sides of the coin.In the schools, it would be hard to teach both concepts objectively because most teachers, being people, can not be objective because all people have a preformed conclusion of what is correct. Were it possibly for one to be objective, I would say teach all forms of philosophy in school and church and let the people decide for themselves, but then the church wouldn't be able to brain wash all of it's followers, as it attempts to do....Show more

Renato Abatiell: I would rather Intelligent Design be taught in schools not Creationism. Not all the positions embraced by evolutionists today were advanced by Charles Darwin himself in his classic "The Origin Of Species." The consistent atheism of philosophic evolution was a position he would not espouse, for he believed that a creating God was logically necessary to explain the prior existence of the original pri! mordial ooze out of which the earliest forms of life emerged. It would! be more accurate to call Darwin a deist rather than an atheist, even though his system was taken over by those who denied the existence of God....Show more

Marco Stolarz: I would rather be in a school where they teach only theories that they have evidence to back them up with. If your religion was allowed in school you would probably be pleased. But think how you would feel if it were another religion? Would you really feel comfortable with them teaching the creation stories by pagan gods? Imagine if the class was asked to join in a prayer to one of those gods. Even though I was raised Christian, I would feel very uncomfortable if the religion in the classroom was Catholic because I would feel blasphemous praying to Mary. Every religion would have to have a part if it were to be fair. So this would mean if there was someone who was part of the occult, you would be there while they were praying to Satan. How would that make you feel? It's either embrace every religio! n together, or teach evidence-based logic. I would definitely choose the latter. And by the way, evolution really is being proven more and more each day. Before we were only going by morphological changes in skeletal fossils. Now they are actually able to find out the genetic ancestry via DNA....Show more

Darnell Cutliff: Godditit - No he didn't. lol class overIf there was anything to teach about creationism, ID, it would have some claim to attention. As of yet, all ID has is a couple of questions that science doesn't have all of the details of yet. That is already being taught. What new information or answers from ID is there? It's a shame that a small minority of humans that stick their head in the sand about most information regarding human history, pokes their head up and wants to join in a discussion about what everyone's children should be learning. If they were truly interested in finding truth, they wouldn't be dismissing evolution without even learning about ! it first....Show more

Abby Herwood: Yes. Objectively.

Silv! ia Stclair: If you can find an atheist who can speak objectively about atheism, go for it. Good luck searching for the nonexistent.

Guy Bonamico: I love you!!! Seriously! That just perked up my morning.

Gus Leiby: There is an expectation/requirement to be in school. There is no requirement to be in church other than a personal one. If you want to establish a place to present your views, be glad that you live in America and can do so. If people are interested or have questions, then they will show up.Now, since I am assuming that you are talking about public school which is paid for by the public and I am a member of the public that funds the school, I should therefore have a say in what is being taught in that public setting as part of the education that I am paying for....Show more

Herma Ellebrecht: Since atheism believes in nothing and is not a religion, how could it be taught in church? If it can be taught then go ahead and set up a 'church'

Aza! lee Ahrendes: What?: You can teach people why atheism is a valid philosophy.
