special education?

Floy Fague: Like others have expressed, i became into elated to locate YA's section for particular coaching. i've got no longer been right here very long yet have already bookmarked quite some questions & solutions. you notice, I no longer in uncomplicated terms come from a kin of particular coaching instructors & directors, yet i'm additionally a worried make certain. approximately those off-subject remember questions, the present engineering ones specially- i've got heard of "large Engineering". per danger this is one clarification why questions have been placed right here incorrectly. somebody would have purely at as quickly as scanned the themes & mistook this to be a community for human beings analyzing those specialties or pursuing stages/careers in such. perhaps the powers that be at YA will create a community for something geared in the direction of them, in the event that they have not already. per danger they are going to label subjects greater specially, as bet! hikinz pronounced..or place a text fabric description under each subject remember. they might additionally create a piece for particular coaching (& greater) careers. As for the different offbeat questions, definite, I thoroughly accept as true with "luvmy4boyz32"... this question would desire to be starred!...Show more

Valentine Willinger: The obvious answer of course would be Special Ed teacher, also there's Spec Ed aide (in a classroom), but what about something like child advocate, who works on the child's (or disabled adult) in the school system, in the work force, in the courts system. Don't rule out in a hospital setting or social services either.Special ed is a great field, and has rewards no other fields can offer!

Scot Sepulbeda: There are a variety of teaching positions available for special education.Co-teacher - Works in an RE classroom with mainstreamed kids.Resource Teacher - Pulls out small groups of special ed kids from the regular classroom to! give extra instruction, usually in reading, written language ! and math..Special Day Class Teacher - There are a number of students who can't be mainstreamed and so they need to be in a special class most of the day. These classes include the following:*Emotionally Handicapped, Serious Emotional Disturbance or a title similar to that. Usually have serious behavior issues.*Handicapped Learner - These students have moderate learning disabilities that require modifications to the curriculum that can't be done in an RE classroom.*Life Skills or EMR, TMR or a similar title - These are children with mild to moderate mental retardation or severe physical disabilities, who need a curriculum that prepares them to live as independently as possible.*Autism, Asperger's - While some children with these disabilities can be mainstreamed, the majority cannot and need a curriculum that emphasizes communication, socialization and some academics.*Profound - These children are severely mentally retarded and often medically fragile. Special School - At tim! es some students cannot be educated on the regular campus and need to attend a special school. Students at these schools tend to be either Profound or severely medically fragile, Seriously Emotionally Disturbed or have severe autism. These schools can be the best places to work because of the camaraderie of the staff (We're all in in together) and the high levels of support (including assistants). We all have a group we love the best. For me it is EH kids first, then Lifeskills, though I love all kids. I taught kids with EH for 14 years and then went back to school to be a Behavior Analyst. In my current job, I get referrals to work with students with severe behavior issues. I just love it!I suggest you visit a number of different classrooms to see what feels right for you. The most difficult teaching assignments are grade K-1 - Profound, Life Skills and EH. If you like this age group, get some experience with older kids before going back down to these. They require a very ! skilled approach because they are not quite civilized when they come to ! your room....Show more

Brock Hladik: they can be special education teachers....maybe

Lorelei Lilburn: A lot of these students are mentally or physically challenged. The teachers help those in need, I was part-time special ed. The classes I had there were different from the same class in a regular calssroom, some classes we had no text books. The teacher wrote the notes on the board, we wrote that in our notebooks. Numbers usually rounded off to the nearest 5, i.e.: The earth is 73% water, for us we used 75%. Which made it easier to remember. It helped me, taking meds. like Phenobarbitol, Dilantin and Valium for seziures (yes, I'm an epileptic), made classes harder, but I did graduate without having to make any classes up....Show more
