Roommates keep leaving laundry in the dryer?

Malcom Fenoff: oh come on!!! it takes a special kind of stupid to put freshly laundered clothes on the floor!!!! you deserved to get screamed at. how old are you??? go find something to put the clothes in. a box or a bag or something but you do not put other people's clothes on the floor. you can buy a plastic laundry basket at the dollar store for... a DOLLAR!!! go buy one to use when there are clothes already in the dryer. do you know how to wipe your own @ss or do you need help with that too?? my god you're an idiot....Show more

Justin Casten: I say both of you sit down and talk about the situation at hand. Talk about what both of you can do to keep you guys satisfied.

Adan Alipio: Try to explain him what you want.

Delphine Cajka: I have two ways (suggestions) for you: 1) it might work if you all agreed that a sign that says something like "not responsible for clothes left in the dryer" which means they may disappear. or 2) if timers are in! stalled that ding when the clothes are done. or maybe you can find a free timer app for them to apply to their iphone. And if people don't comply the laying them to the side or top of the dryer so you can use it should be appropriate. Problem is if these people want to get mean they could take your clothes out and dispose of them which would be mean and cause a problem, or you could sit there in a chair reading a book while your clothes wash and dry. Hopefully it was not you who put their clothes on the floor....Show more

Ulrike Hert: Throw it on top of the dryer and let it build, they will eventually lose some socks out of this (they will be behind the dryer) but just keep created the tower of clothing mountain, they will get the hint.

Burt Cheevers: Next time just get a plastic trash bag and put them in. It is rude of anyone to just leave laundry for someone else to take care of instead of doing it yourself.

Manie Labat: You say "keep leaving", whic! h implies that this happens over and over again, and then ment! ion only one incident. The considerate thing to do would have been to take the clothes out, fold them, and put them on top of the dryer, or in a basket or bag, or in the room of the person they belonged to if you could tell who that was and if going into someone else's room is okay in your house. I really don't know why anyone would put someone else's clean laundry on the floor. Is that what you would like to happen to your clean laundry?Treating other people and their stuff the way you would like you and your stuff to be treated is a good rule. While you are perfectly free to wreck your own stuff if you like, you are not free to wreck other people's stuff. Now, placing laundry on the floor is not going to do any permanent harm, but the principle remains. I don't know why four people need a laundry schedule. If you really need to do laundry at some particular time, mention it to the others--by texting, phoning, leaving a note, or(what a concept!) speaking to them in person an! d asking if what you need conflicts with what someone else needs. If it does, then you discuss it and work out a compromise. Maybe this is what I learned growing up in a household with 7 people and one bathroom. If there is more than one person in the house, then all of them are going to have to make considerations for the others....Show more

Len Bormes: Not sure why you would place clean dried cloths on the floor, which is generally considered to be dirty. I would have put them atop the dryer unless they are stackable.

Luke Gacusan: What should I do about roommates leaving laundry in the dryer?

Sonya Volcko: Next time you come across someone else's laundry in the dryer, put it in a clean trash bag (preferably a clear one) and leave it somewhere in the apartment. It might be nice for everyone to have their own laundry basket with their own name on it. What are the house rules? If you find someone's wet laundry in the washer are you supposed to move it to t! he dryer or should you just take it out in case there is something "lin! e dry only" in there?
